Today in Science, we have been looking at metamorphosis. Metamorphosis is a significant change during an animal's life. This helped us understand the difference in animals and nature's biodiversity.
In Geography this half term, we have been focusing on rainforests across the globe. Our core text is 'Natural World', we have been using this to learn about the four layers of a rainforest. We have also been learning about the animals you find in these layers. Biodiversity is important to all rainforests because it helps animals and plants keep balanced in their ecosystem.

Bikeability has begun! Class 5 are excited to welcome 'Big on Bikes' into our school for cycling and road safety training. Learning to ride a bike is important in so many ways; exercise, saving the environment, even for our mental health. Riding bikes is a sustainable source of travel. Instead of driving a car everywhere and burning lots of fossil fuels (that pollute our air) riding bikes is a healthy and clean method of transportation.
This half term in Spanish, Year 5 have been looking at the topic "My Town", learning vocabulary to describe their local shops and buildings in conversation, along with being able to say and write their address too.

Sharing our Core Texts
(2nd March 2022)
As part of our book week we had a very special assembly this Wednesday. Representatives from each class took the opportunity to share the book their class will be focussing on this half term. They went on to explain how their book fits into our whole school theme of ‘Saving our Environment’. It was a joy to see children sharing their enthusiasm of reading and looking forward to a half term packed with learning.
