Our Visit to Bluebell Farm - what a lovely day!
As we continue our transition into Key Stage 1, Mrs Harrison, Mrs Straw, Mrs Hull and Mrs Reckless took us all to Bluebell Farm, where we searched for our pygmy goat, Woolley - we adopted him in Class R.
Black History Month
October is 'Black History Month' and we have been finding out about lots of different role models in our assemblies and in class. Today, we found out about the work footballer Marcus Rashford did during the pandemic to help children get the food they needed. We thought about our favourite foods too!
English
We have read these stories and used them as a basis for lots of discussions in PSHE and our ideas for writing.
Maths
Online Maths activities to try at home
Phonic Fun!
Today we went outside for our phonic session and looked for words hidden around the playground. Can you remember some of the words you found?
We have had a lovely first 2 weeks settling into Year 1!
In Science we have been learning about our body parts and our 5 senses. We have been on a sensory walk around our school grounds - looking for things, listening to sounds and feeling the texture of different materials.
We have done lots of counting and number work in Maths. We are learning to read the number words. Try this game at home to help you!
