How should we remember the Great War?

How much can we learn from soldiers' letters about WWI?

How did a murder lead to a war in 1914?

How has Boudica been interpreted and represented?

In History, Class 4 used information cards to gather and piece together their research in order to create a full picture on their jigsaw record sheet of what life was like in Roman Britain:

In History, the children worked as detectives to examine, 'Who were the Romans', using a variety of historical evidence, including real Roman coins!

In History during Spring Term 1, to link with the Social Justice theme, Class 4 investigated the role of women in 1900, the inequality in society, the campaigns for votes for women and how far the Suffragettes helped or hindered in the fight for the right to vote.

Here you can see the children being 'History Detectives' and researching a key moment in the campaign for votes for women at the 1913 Derby. The children also worked as historians to reach a balanced argument about the overall impact of the Suffragettes. The photos below show how they began to construct their arguments about how 'On one hand' the Suffragettes helped, whereas 'On the other hand' their campaigns did more harm than good. Well done class 4!
